Turntable mats are an extremely important part of vinyl reproduction. They isolate unwanted vibrations from the motor and other external sources.

In essence, a better record mat = a better sound.

Our favorite mat is made by Technics. We have yet to find a better mat for an SL series turntable. They offer great dampening, are super flat and are made to a very high-quality with supple rubber.

The only negative is they look a bit plain, so we decided to fix that.

We start with a brand new Technics SL series OEM mat manufactured in Japan.  We are still able to source these in a small quantities.  You see.. the Japanese ones have a nice finish and texture than the Malaysian ones of current production.  Then we precisely punch holes around the outer perimeter with special in house made jig which indexes automatically and ensures every single hole is correct.

The end result is something that performs as well as the original but with stellar looks,, allowing the attractive brass platter on the SL-1200G, SL1300G, and SL-1000R models to shine through. 

No, we are not claiming and performance improvements of any kind. We just think it looks super cool!
